The Only Way is UP! 2023
Guernsey’s ultimate cycling challenge took place on Sunday 1st October, 2023.
Back for its third year riders were greeted with perfect early autumn sunshine and dry roads. What a difference a year makes! 120 riders took part on day choosing from 3 different routes with most going for the full 25 hills as featured in the Guernsey’s Cycling Climbs book. Links to the routes are available below. The 2023 event raised £3500 for charity taking the total raised for the 3 years it has run to over £10,000. A massive thank you to all that took part for reaching this milestone.
All the money raised goes to the local Only Fools & Donkeys charity who distribute the money to good causes and charities locally. To see where the money goes please go to: https://www.only-fools-and-donkeys.com/charity-donations/ Through cycling events and initiatives the charity has raise over £250,000 since 2010.
Without the sponsorship from Skipton International and Rocq Capital this event couldn’t happen so a big thank you to them for their continued support. A big thank you also to the volunteers behind the scenes that help ensure the ride runs smoothly on the day. Marshalls, registration team, cake makers and BBQ chefs all contribute massively to make the event the success it is.
Details on how to book your place for the 2024 edition will be released nearer the time. Watch this space!
