30/30 Sportive 2025
2025 makes the third edition of this popular sportive organised by the Only Fools Donkeys team in association with Ian Browns Cycle Shop and also this year Pinarello. The sportive raises valuable funds for Les Bourgs Hospice as part of the annual Ian Brown’s 30/30 Challenge. This event is aimed at endurance road bikers with the option to ride 30, 60 or 90 miles on 3 different 30-mile routes on Sunday, 18th May 2025.
Starting and finishing at KGV, the x3 routes vary in terrain, so everyone can enjoy this event regardless of whether you like hills, and it is a fun way to raise money for a great cause. All bikes are welcome, and there is a choice of start times depending on how far you wish to ride. Registration is £10 and includes a feed station at KGV with support from M&S, Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop and delicious home baking!

Pinarello
New for 2025, the world-renowned bike manufacturer Pinarello will have a stand at the event. Showcasing their latest range of bikes, it is hoped that they will also display some special celebrity bikes used in the UCI World Tour for everyone to admire. More information on test rides will be provided closer to the event. To check out their latest road bikes, visit: https://pinarello.com/uk/en/bikes/road.
Food and drink
There is a feed station at KGV kindly sponsored by M&S and Ian Brown’s. This will provide fruit, flapjacks and sports nutrition, water refills and cakes made by Matt’s mum. Toilets will be available. Each 30-mile route starts and finishes at KGV so you will have opportunities to refuel during the ride. After finishing the KGV café and bar will be open for a deserved pint!
Donations
As well having a great morning on the bike, the main objective of putting on this Sportive is to raise valuable funds for Les Bourgs Hospice as part of the month long 30/30 Challenge. The £10 entry fee will be given in full to Les Bourgs however I would encourage everyone to try and donate more if you can please.
Donations can be made on the day via cash or credit card
KGV are kindly hosting the event with registration, feed station, toilets and the start and finish of each route situated here.
Routes
The routes are downloadable as GPX files below.
It is entirely up to you which order you ride the routes and how many you ride. At the end of your ride at KGV please sign out. If however, you decide to stop your ride altogether mid-route please text 07911 720 595 so we can sign you out.
Any questions on the routes below please contact: info@cyclingclimbs.org.gg
It is advised that if possible yourself or cycling partner download the route(s) onto a bike computer such as a Garmin or Wahoo. The route overlaps in places with occasional repeats of some roads. There are 3 routes to choose from and if you’re going for 60 or 90 miles it’s up to you which order you tackle them. Some routes are hillier than others so entirely up to you what combination or order you decide to tackle them.
Total elevation (according to Strava) = 5704ft (1738m) over the full 90 miles.
Route 1
A flattish route of 30miles around the coast of Guernsey. The route uses “the Garden Path” – a tranquil lane to get back up to Torteval Church. The only hill of any note is due to the fact there was previously a Seafront Sunday taking place so the route through Town goes up Vauvert. Total of 1046ft of elevation gained across the 30miles.
Route 2
The hilliest of the 3 routes with rolling terrain and a few key climbs incl: “The Hateful Eight” strava segment which includes the Coudre and Hechet, Petit Bot – Rue du Fallaise and Saints Bay Harbour. 2607ft of elevation.
Route 3
Pitched somewhere in the middle of the first two routes it includes Cornet Street/George Road, Frie Baton and The Buzzard. 2051ft of elevation.
